Advantages

With hundreds of companies out there claiming to build commercial boats, selecting the right manufacturer for your boat can be a difficult decision. Here are a few critical advantages you get when you make the decision to work with Brunswick Commercial and Government Products.

Company Longevity

BCGP didn’t just leap into commercial and military boat building when the recreational market went south. We have been building commercial and military platforms exclusively for more than 50 years. That experience has taught us the importance of fortified laminate schedules, accurate quotes, delivery deadlines, and after-the-sale service and support.   Best of all, we have the financial backing of our parent company – Brunswick – the world’s largest marine manufacturer. This ensures we will not leave you and your project hanging out to dry.

Product Longevity

You can read about construction specifics in the Construction section but we just wanted to touch on the fact that we have boats in service that are measured in decades, not just years.  This is important because very few companies or agencies can afford to replace product year after year. We build our boats to last and we have a proven track record to illustrate our success.

Choices

One of the greatest advantages to doing business with BCGP is that is it a one-stop shop. Whether you require a fiberglass platform, aluminum or RHIB, we’ve got you covered. You don’t have to evaluate multiple companies or have multiple contacts. You make one call and talk to one person. Even beyond the platform, you have hundreds of options from which to select, ranging from propulsion to electronics.

Expertise

In addition to the skilled craftsmen and women who build our boats, we have experienced law enforcement, fire/rescue, commercial and military personnel on staff to guide our efforts from a user’s perspective. We supplement that knowledge with additional input from customers in the field to ensure our product development and refinement is on target. Building a boat without that kind of input is like developing a car without having a clue how to drive.

Support

Depending on the complexity of the boat or fleet you order, you may require training or support in the function and maintenance of systems and options. BCGP has dedicated personnel to ensure you and your team members are trained and comfortable with the operation and performance of everything relative to your boat. Unlike other companies, our relationship does not end when you take delivery.

Our goal is to surpass your every expectation so that you are a customer for life.

There are literally thousands of different applications for commercial boats. We've built boats with giant dive doors so that trained Bottlenose dolphin could swim into the cockpits for research purposes. We've built gunboats, tow boats, law enforcement, fire, rescue, EOD boats, harbor master boats, utility boats, dive boats, salvage boats and hundreds more. Each application has its unique challenges and requires specific features and options to address the requirements of the mission.

We've addressed just the tip of the iceberg in some of the applications to the right. But if you don't see exactly what you need, it doesn't mean we can't do it. Just means there's not enough space to show everything. So if you've got a weird request, just ask. As a side note, we've discovered having a .50 caliber gun mount on the bow typically gets you preferential treatment at the ramp.

Half Century of Experience

Building boats for commercial and military applications is an art. You can't just use a run-of-the-mill runabout and expect there to be anything left at the end of the day. It's like replacing you with a suit from the corporate office, handing them the keys and pointing them toward the water. In either event, they're not up to the task and it's not going to be pretty.

Our goal is to provide you with the right equipment to get the job done. Half a century of experience has given us some insight into what that means. It means not cutting corners when it comes to material. It means extra reinforcement in traditional areas of stress. Because of these extra reinforcements, our boats may occasionally be a little bit heavier than others; but when that extra weight is what keeps you afloat when other boats would have submarined, that extra weight isn't so bad.

The boat brand and model you need depends on your specific application. Rest assured that our Impact, Sentry and Whaler boats, although completely different in terms of looks, share the same attention to detail, quality materials and superior design and construction. Click on the links to the right for details.

When you take delivery of your new BCGP boat, our job isn't finished - it's just beginning. We stay in touch to ensure that your craft remains operational. It's important to us because we want you to be a happy customer for life - many missions, many boats.

We have knowledgeable and dedicated customer service teams to ensure your continued satisfaction throughout the life of your boat. Plus, your BCGP boat comes equipped with a multi-year limited hull warranty. Brunswick Commercial & Government boats are built to stand up to tough assignments. And we stand behind them.

In addition, Brunswick Commercial & Government Products' Refurbishment Service is available to clean, repair and update your boat to add years of service to your older models and potentially save you thousands of dollars.

We understand that you need a tough boat to do a tough job. If it were easy, you could buy some sissy off-the-shelf recreational boat and do just fine.

Because commercial boats are typically subjected to frequent use in harsh conditions, many boat companies will not warranty them. In fact, if you read their warranties, you will see in the fine print that commercial usage actually invalidates the warranty completely.

Fortunately, that is not the case with Brunswick Commercial and Government Product boats.

We start by by building our boats strong in the first place. Fortified laminate schedules, heavy duty hardware, extra durable rub strakes and large, solid cleats are just a few of the places you'll notice the difference. Then we demonstrate our confidence in our boats by backing them with powerful warranties that are with you years after you take delivery.

Although we'd really love it if you could buy a new BCGP boat every year, we know that's sometimes impractical. And because we build the darn things so tough, it's typically not necessary either. In fact, it is not unusual to have Whalers in commercial service in excess of a decade. The Whaler warranty is 10 years so obviously the boats are built to stick around.

So we have a factory program to refurbish your Whaler to bring it back to its original beauty so you can get another decade or two of work out of her. (Our Impact series hasn't been around that long yet but we can spruce those up too when the opportunity arises.) Or we can train your people to conduct general maintenance and repairs so you can reduce the period out of service.
