Procurement

You'll notice a big difference with your first call or visit with Brunswick Commercial & Government Products. Most boat builders ask "What model?" or "What length?" or "What color?"

At BCGP, we want to know the mission, the operating environment, the skill level of personnel who will be at the helm, water depth and top speed requirements. Those are the types of questions that will pair you with the perfect vessel.

The members of our staff have been in your shoes - former marine law enforcement officers, U.S. Navy and Coast Guard personnel, even active-duty firefighters. Because they've been there and done it themselves, they can help you configure a boat specific to your agency. They are people who know what you need to get the job done and who can make the whole procurement process easier.

If custom work is needed, our talented engineering group can develop unique features and options and CAD drawings to help you visualize how they will look and function.

When you're satisfied with the proposed model and options, we can provide technical specifications and performance data that you can use as a basis for an RFP. For U.S. federal agencies and armed forces, no RFP is needed since we have a GSA contract in place.

When the purchase order is received, you can participate in a pre-construction conference with our representatives. You can attend in person or by phone. Your project is reviewed to ensure you get exactly what you want. Then we finalize details and review any special instructions or custom work. After the conference, engineering puts together the bill of materials, lamination schedules and assembly documents. Only then does construction begin.
