QUALITY ASSURANCE
When you're building a complex boat for a specific mission, you can't wait until the end of the assembly line to conduct a quality check. At BCGP, your craft is inspected every step of the way. Sure, we've implemented processes to ensure quality, but it still takes a trained inspector to confirm those processes are carefully followed and are meeting specification every time.
For example, we know the precise resin-to-glass ratio for each model so we don't create a boat that's too heavy or too light. Each truckload of foam we receive is tested by our team to confirm density and rise before it goes into a hull. Resin is tested for hardness and maximum temperature. And gelcoat is tested to ensure consistent color. Components are checked, then checked again to be sure they perform to spec. Then, once the boat is completed, it is checked again.
Quality assurance inspectors go over everything for fit, finish and function – fuel systems, engines, electrical systems and electronics. If a trailer is part of the order, it’s checked and adjusted to make sure the boat sits properly and is supported correctly.
If a sea trial is part of the order, it’s performed on the Intracoastal Waterway and in the open ocean. We encourage you to come along and watch the testing yourself. Only after you and the most stringent quality assurance team on the water are perfectly satisfied will your documents be prepared and your boat released for shipment.
